Revised Information On The Call For Proposals For The ACE Impact Project

August 23, 2018 by ACE Communication Team

Revised Information

Please recall that we had earlier fixed the deadline for the submission of the ACE impact proposals for 24th August 2018, to enable us review and give feedback to the proponents. Although this is not the final deadline for submission of the proposals to the World Bank, we had fixed this date to enable the national evaluation team to do quality checks and return the proposals to you, with detailed comments that may further strengthen the proposals. It will also help us to see the details of the proposals and where relevant, ask universities to join forces since we are going into a regional competition.

Even though there was a consensus during the workshop that held last week (14th August) that we should proceed with the timelines earlier proposed, we have decided to adjust the timelines by one week for the following reasons:

(i)                  The World Bank has fixed a project steering committee (PSC) meeting for Monday 27th August 2018 and may likely provide additional information that we may find useful in preparing the proposals.

(ii)                We have received requests from a few universities suggesting that the 2 days public holiday have impacted on their logistics for printing, binding and shipping of their proposals to Abuja.

(iii)               We are also putting finishing touches to our internal mechanism for reviewing and providing feedback before the final submission sometime in September.

Based on the foregoing, we are extending this first deadline by one week i.e. submissions will now be on Friday 31st August 2018 (4 printed copies of each proposal and a soft copy on a flash drive).

This adjustment will equally affect subsequent deadlines as follows:

  • 31st August to 7th  September 2018  – NUC will review the proposals and give feedback to the proponents.
  • 14th September 2018 – Final submission of the proposals to NUC. 2 printed copies of each proposal and a soft copy should be submitted at the NUC latest by 3 p.m. on this date.
  • 17 – 26 September 2018 – Review and preparation of the accompanying reports to the World Bank/AAU/evaluators
  • 28th September 2018 – Submission at the Regional Facilitation Unit domiciled at the Association of African Universities (AAU).

We shall provide additional information after the PSC meeting of Monday 27th August 2018.

• 31 August – 7 September 2018 NUC will review the proposals and give feedback to the  proponents.
• 14 September 2018 Final submission of Proposals. 2 printed copies of each proposal and a soft copy should be submitted at the NUC latest by 3 p.m. on this date.
• 17 – 26 September 2018 Review and preparation of the accompanying reports to the World Bank/AAU/Evaluators
• 28 September 2018 Submission at the Regional Facilitation Unit domiciled at the Association of African Universities (AAU)
