West and Central Africa Post-Harvest Congress And Exhibition (WCAPHCE) 2018

West and Central Africa Post-Harvest Congress and Exhibition (WCAPHCE) is convocation of stakeholders aimed at addressing the menace of “post-harvest loss” in the agricultural economy of the West and Central Africa Regions.

The Congress seeks to create a platform where researchers, policy-makers and practitioners in the agricultural sector can converge to brainstorm and forge practical, lasting solutions to the variegated realities occasioning “Post Harvest Losses” in the agricultural value chain.

The Congress and Exhibition will be held from 17th to 21st September, 2018, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre , Abuja, Nigeria.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstracts of high quality and original papers are invited from contributors under the main theme and the sub-themes, but not limited only to them.

Main Theme:

UPSCALING OF POST-HARVEST ACTIVITIES IN WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA

Sub-themes:

  • Food Postharvest Handling, Packaging and Transportation.
  • Food Safety: Pesticides Usage and Implications/ Food Contaminants
  • Food Security and Value Addition.
  • Nutrition and Food Fortification
  • Network, Linkages and Access to Markets.

Specify your preferred Sub-theme on top of your Abstract. Posters are also invited from early career researchers and postgraduate students for presentation.

Guidelines to Authors

Abstract of the paper not more than 250 words should be submitted thus:

  • Paper Title [Bold, Centred, Upper Case, 14 Font, Time New Roman]
  • Author Names, Affiliations, E-mail and Phone Numbers [12 font and centred]
  • Abstract [ 12-font and justified]

Guidelines for Exhibition

The West and Central Africa Post-Harvest Congress and Exhibition (WCAPHCE) would like to invite companies, organizations and individuals involved in the Post-Harvest value chain to present their services, products and/or literature at the Post-Harvest oriented exhibition, which will be held simultaneously with the congress from 17th to 21st September, 2018.

The exhibition Organizer is the Centre for Food Technology and Research (CEFTER), Benue State University Makurdi, Partnership with Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) and supported by other Stakeholders.

The exhibition will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre , Abuja, Nigeria.

Coffee and lunch will be served in the exhibition area, thus ensuring maximum contact between exhibitors and participants.

The organizers reserve the right to determine the eligibility of all exhibition stand space applications, expecting that all exhibitions will conform to the educative and scientific goals of the Congress. The allocation of stand space does not mean that the information provided at the exhibition stand is endorsed by the organizers.

The Organizer’s Exhibition sub-committee Chairman, acting under direction of the Local Organizing Committee, has the final decision as to the acceptability of displays. Exhibitors are not to share with others any space allotted to them without prior written consent by the Exhibition Manager.
