OAK-Park Computer Society Holds 3rd Cyber Security Workshop

The Obafemi Awolowo University ICT-Driven Knowledge Park (OAK-PARK) Computer Society, in collaboration with IBM, recently organised a workshop on Cyber Security certification, which was aimed at providing home-grown intellectual capability, methodologies and manpower to defend and protect the nation’s critical information infrastructure and industries.

The workshop, which was held at the MTN Centre, University de Parakou, Republic of Benin, was also aimed at developing cyber security products and industries, which would not only benefit government and industry, but also provide a platform for potential export of ICT products.

In his opening remarks, the Director of the Institute of Technology of University de Parakou Dr.Sosthene Frederic Tokoudagba commended the Africa Centres of Excellence (ACE) Project for providing an opportunity forthe training and encouraged participants to take advantage of it, to gather useful information and glean best practices.

The Workshop was attended by 75 participants, mainly from Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.
